Translation Chain

is an amazing project. Any a y'alls what speaks more than one language should get involved.

:iconklit-shy:'s question of the day (or so):
How interested are you in language, the act of communicating through an arbitrary set of pre-determined symbols?

Well, my anima and corpore are neither of them feeling very sano, but I am going to try Forrester's advice for (inter)National Novel Writing Month: "The first key to writing... is to write. Not to think. That comes later." For those of y'all who've missed this contemporary classic: [link] (from about 6:30 to end).

Subby

So, my subscription ran out, apparently today. I've had one for almost two and a half years now. Just looking at all those ads... it almost feels like an eviction notice. I'm not gonna beg and cry for any of y'alls to spend your hard-earned dough on me, but I do want to know a couple of things.

1. Beta testers: do you still get ads?

2. Those who had subscriptions then lost 'em: Was the experience horrific enough for you to shell out your own cash to get a new one?

3. Everyone: What writing contests are offering big subs?

~kLiT-sHy's question of the day:

Have you ever gotten so touched by someone bringing you soup that you broke down and cried? I get like that when I'm sick. It's not fun having it, I'll tell you that much. I drove myself to the doctor's office, filled out lots of paperwork, both of which are difficult to manage with a fever of 103.5oF (38.7 for those of you who use centigrade) and aches all over your body.

At least I've gotten inspiration for the next installment of Pharmacy Help Desk

Tar River

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 26, 2008, 6:31 AM

Alright folks. Last night was a momentous occasion, and I'm writing a journal to celebrate it/mark it in time. I submitted five of my poems, "House Poem," "The Gypsy Wandered In," "Concerto Starnuto," "Blame Late-Night Nature Shows for This Poem," and "Urinal Etiquette" to Tar River, a prestigious U.S. poetry magazine. This journal is also to kind of let them know, in case they find my poems here, that I'm not a plagiarist. Also, it will help me mark the time til I can say to myself that I've been rejected and submit some of the same poems someplace else.

*kLiT-sHy's question of the day:
*How well do you deal with anticipation? disappointment?

A great poem that has fun with the angst genre while working well within that style.
