Six Sins for Sixpence by *batousaijin:iconbatousaijin:

Sing a song of Libertine,
A pocket full of ash,
Four and twenty prophets
Looking to score some cash.
When the cash was earned, and
All was said and done,
They lit up their peyote pipes
And said, "Now, THAT was fun."

I wrote this in like five minutes on a whim. Less than a minute later, ~sejongkim1979 asked me to write a poem about religion and its shortcomings for his story, "Devout Marionettes" [link] , and I said, "You'll never believe this." It's to the tune of "Sing a Song of Sixpence."

well, libertine is kind of the opposite of religion, in my opinion. ever hear of the marquis de sade? he was pretty libertine.

ahhh... its just going against the norms in society. got it. i guess that is sort of the opposite of religion. nihilism was included in that description though for modern definitions, but nihilism isn't exactly anti-religion, though i suppose religious people say it would...

libertine seems to me to be more about satisfying impulses. that's kinda what i was thinking anyway.
