Close the Contentment Gap by ~batousaijin:iconbatousaijin:

Is it possible to have more than one trip of a lifetime
and then take on my next canvas?
Surprise me.
Shed the suit and pitch the pumps.

Take on my next canvas
with a perfectly naked nail.
Shed the suit and pitch the pumps--
your dreams miss you.

A perfectly naked nail
notices feelings of fullness.
Your dreams miss you
in a matter of minutes.

Feelings of fullness
close the contentment gap.
A matter of minutes
knows no such thing as "too close."

Close the contentment gap--
the sudden disappearance of worldly cares is our pleasure.
There's no such thing as "too close"
in the bathtub.

The sudden disappearance of worldly cares
makes everything cold in December.
In the bathtub,
there's no passport required.

Not everything is cold in December--
surprise me.
No passport required
for more than one trip of a lifetime.

This elegant form is a pantoum. The final for my creative writing class was to write a pantoum using only lines clipped from magazines. It was a group project, so I can't take sole credit for it. I wrote it with two other classmates, who shall remain nameless because perhaps they don't want their names associated with whatever it is I do online.

For more info on the pantoum, see Wikipedia. It's pretty simple, until you try to explain it, and they do a pretty good job explaining it.

Personally, I have a very hard time on critisizing poetry.
I cant tell you this though. I loved how you reinforced the line "a perfectly naked nail," as second time into the poem.
Good Pantoum, :)

thanks for the :+fav:es. every line in a pantoum is in there twice.

Yes but that line was the most powerful to be repeated. That's why it stuck out. :)
You're welcome!

The Poetry.. That comes from the squaring off between.. And the circling is worth it.. Finding beauty in the dissonance.. -Tool

This must have been so much fun to write! Sorry I don't have a critique, but I really enjoyed reading it!
